Game Rules

We work hard to maintain a safe, clean, and friendly community, so please obey the rules set forth and help keep CatalystRO as fun and playable for everyone as possible. All unexplained penalties will be given at the available GM's discretion. We appreciate your cooperation.


General Game Related
  • There is absolutely NO BOTTING, hacking or any use of a 3rd party program (this includes macros).
  • Vend/chat rules in Prontera, Alberta and Payon:
    • Do not vend while standing on the road. (Exception: You may vend at the Prontera fountain if your shop sign touches the flowers.)
    • Do not open chat rooms while standing on the road if you are AFK (Away from keyboard).
    • Do not open a vend or chat within 4 tiles of an NPC or portal.
  • Do not spam annoying skills (e.g. Ice Wall) in any towns (Events are an exception).
  • Exploiting bugs that result in the gain of large quantities of zeny, items, or disrupting the server will result in a ban. Reporting a bug of this nature will result in a reward.
  • Do not pretend to be a Game Master. Do not name yourself similar to a GM.
  • Do not attempt to sell items, zeny, or accounts with real money. (Buyers: If someone offers to sell you something for real money, and you can prove to a GM's satisfaction that the seller intended to sell it to you, then we will seize the property and sell it to you for 20% less!)

Player Related
  • Respect all players. No harassment or discrimination will be tolerated.
  • Do not attack or loot other players' monsters without their permission.
    • A monster "belongs" to another player if it is attacking, being attacked by, trapped by, or following that player.
    • When casting area attacks, make sure not to hit other players' monsters.
    • Monsters that give the MVP sign when killed are exempt from this rule.
  • Do not warp players using Warp Portal without their permission. Exception: You may do this in PVP, but not to an EXP loss map.
  • Do not use Azoth or Hylozoist Card in Prontera, Payon, Alberta, pay_dun00, gl_prison, orcsdun01 or anthell01. Violators may have their Azoth/Hylozoist Card confiscated.
  • Purposefully gathering normal monsters and leading them to another player with the intention of killing them is not allowed, however using Dead Branches and forcing MVPs to spawn minions is allowed.
  • Do not chase someone through different PVP rooms killing them repeatedly without their permission.
  • Do not scam people of their items, accounts, or zeny.
  • When vending, do not put false advertisements in the shop title with the intention of deceiving buyers.

Alchemist Related
  • Do not kill other alchemists' plants without their permission.
  • Monsters that an alchemist's plants/homunculus are fighting belong to that player.
  • Do not allow your Homunculus to attack other players' monsters. Use the "Stand By" (Alt+T) command as necessary.

Game Master (GM) Related
  • GMs will never ask for your items or password.
  • GMs will never give away any zeny, items, or tank players, so don't ask.
  • Respect all GMs and their decisions.
  • Do not spam messages to GMs.
  • Do not ask to be a GM.
  • GMs reserve the right to ban/mute/jail for rule violations without warning.

War of Emperium Related
  • Do not destroy your own Emperium (e.g. using Homunculus, Gravitation Field).
  • Do not summon Transcendent Characters in Non-Trans Castles.
  • No underhanded tricks (spamming trade requests, party invites, PMs to distract, etc.).

All Other Relations
  • Do not advertise other RO servers.
  • If someone apologizes for breaking a Player Related rule, accept the apology and move on, do not harass, swear, or threaten them.
  • You are responsible for your account's security. We strongly recommend that you choose a secure password that you will not forget.
  • If you give out your password to anyone, you take FULL responsibily for their actions (including botting/scamming/item loss/character deletion/etc).
  • We are not responsible if your items got stolen because someone guessed your password or because they deceived you.
